6-Ingredient Fudgy Brownies Recipe
Ingredients
170g dark chocolate, chopped
100g (7 tbsp) salted butter
2 large eggs (room temperature)
200g (1 cup) granulated sugar
71g (½cup +1 tbsp) all-purpose flour
50g chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to (170°C). Line an 6x6-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a 2-inch overhang on all sides for easy removal.
Melt Chocolate and Butter:
Combine the chopped chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl.
Melt over a double boiler (place the bowl over a pan of simmering water) or use a microwave in short bursts, stirring frequently until smooth.
Keep the mixture warm.
Whisk Eggs and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, crack in the eggs and add the sugar.
Whisk for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is pale and slightly thickened.
The sugar should start dissolving, but you don’t need it fully whipped.
Combine Mixtures: Pour the warm melted chocolate mixture into the egg-sugar mixture.
Whisk until the batter is smooth, glossy, and thick.
Add Flour: Sift or sprinkle the flour over the batter, then gently fold until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to keep the brownies fudgy.
Add Walnuts (Optional): Gently fold in the chopped walnuts if using.
Bake: Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for25 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Use the parchment overhang to lift the brownies out. Slice and enjoy!
These brownies are best when slightly underbaked for that classic fudgy texture. Enjoy!
