Training your puppy starts at home. Practicing skills in a known environment comes before practicing in novel environments. And remember, dog's don't generalize well. Just because they "do it at home" doesn't mean they understand the behavior happens everywhere. For the first 10 new locations, act like your dog has never trained the behavior before and "re-train" it in the new environment. Over those 10 locations your dog will get faster and faster and then understand that that skill happens everywhere :)
