The Resort Shirakami Train comes in three different designs:
~'Aoike' inspired by and named after the most popular of the twelve lakes in Shirakami-Sanchi, 'Aoike.'
~'Buna,' designed after and named after the beech forests in Shirakami-Sanchi.
~'Kumagera,' inspired by the woodpeckers residing in Shirakami-Sanchi and the sunsets over the Sea of Japan.
Inside the train, there are performances that take place in one of the carriages, and the train's screens also play these performances simultaneously:
~Traditional Tsugaru gold and silver bean wooden puppet theater.
~Tsugaru dialect 'Kataribe' demonstration.
~Live Tsugaru shamisen performance.

Shirakami-Sanchi was registered as a World Heritage Site in December 1993 (Heisei 5th year). Inside, there are numerous lakes, with the most famous being 'Aoike,' known for its unique blue color.
