Watch the complete construction of Gansevoort Peninsula – Manhattan's first public beach! For seven years, EarthCam documented the project, which combines the hallmarks of Hudson River Park Trust: recreation, education and resiliency. It features a new water access point for kayakers and small boaters, a large sports field, boardwalk, picnic area, an ecological salt marsh, and a man-made underwater habitat that is home to 20 million juvenile oysters. EarthCam worked with Invictus Engineering, who served as construction management for the $70-million, 5.5-acre green space, capturing tens of thousands of high-quality images to create this 4K time-lapse.
