China’s Regulations for teachers CHANGING

Last year there has bee a lot of chatter about China changing their regulations and requirements for online teachers. What does that mean for us? What does that mean for new teachers?

I did end up completing the TESOL 120 hour certification with the International Open Academy - This course is one of the cheapest and easiest out there. I was able to complete the certification within a day.

UPDATE 2019 It is a GREAT idea to have your 120 hour TESOL certification BEFORE applying so you do not have to go through the VIPKID-TESOL certification. The TESOL certification that I have (good with ANY company) was only $19 (then I also purchased the ICOES Certificate for about $39 - more official and has a certificate number which SOME companies require.) This course is one of the cheapest and easiest out there. I was able to complete the certification within a day.

I have a few different setups and things that I use to create my videos and teach with depending upon my needs at the time. I'm a bit of a nerd, so here we go:

When traveling:
iPad Pro (10.5 inch) Wi-Fi + Cellular Rose Gold (SUPER easy to travel with) - amzn.to/2TvQ7ih
BOSE SoundSport in-ear headphones (I also love running with them dual purpose) - amzn.to/2u2tBy7

Or Lenovo Laptop if I really need more functionality that I can't get with the iPad for other business purposes (teaching, the iPad usually has less issues)

At Home:

While teaching ESL:
iMac Pro (2008 or 2009) I think it might have been one of the first ones... It's still running, so I still use it (works great with the VIPKID teacher app) has a built in camera - (latest model) - amzn.to/2F7UuHv
Plantronics Blackwire 320 USB corded headset w/ mic - amzn.to/2F8hHcD

Anything else:
Custom built PC with dual monitors
Blue Yeti Microphone - amzn.to/2O441SU
Logitech webcam - amzn.to/2u8BWjP
Steelseries mouse - amzn.to/2Tz1VQP

Phone: Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 - amzn.to/2UuF7Ol
