I first noticed this kind of "turn" in Dubai. Our bus needed to turn left, but in order to turn left, the bus first had to turn right, go about 100 meters and then turn left, then go another 100 meters or so and then go all the way around a roundabout to come back to the main intersection, and then finally turn right again (to head left from the original location, which was the Dubai Mall). How crazy is that?
