The Yohkokan Garden is a Japanese-style garden with a circular garden created in the early to mid-Edo period and designated as a Place of Scenic Beauty by the national government. It was built as a villa of the Matsudaira family, the feudal lord of Fukui, and various types of trees and stone arrangements are placed in the vast grounds centering on a pond.
