Karen Marin graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies in June 2018.
"You are where you are supposed to be"
Karen came into UCLA from an underrepresented community. It was a big jump for her to come to UCLA from high school. Even though she tried so hard to make herself fit in, she failed. "Maybe I don't belong here", she struggled her first year, but after she changed her major to Environmental Studies, it clicked. She finally felt that "I do belong here".

"あなたは居るべき場所に居る"
カレンは社会的少数派のコミュニティー出身で、様々な人種の学生が通うUCLAの環境に驚いた。大学に馴染もうとしたけど、上手くいかず。自分にUCLAは合ってないのかな、と思い辛く孤独な1年生を送った。
学部を変更し、心機一転。彼女はやっと自分の居場所を見つけることが出来た。自分はここに居て良いんだ、とやっと思えた。
