Today I share an orphea game I had where I went 18-1 with 40k more damage than sylvanas, but the sylvanas who went 8-0 took MVP. This is another lesson. Not dying is one of the most important things in this game. The game doesn't care about 18 kills because of the 1 death I had, it would rather give MVP to the person that had half as many kills but didn't die at all (and had more siege damage, the game loves siege damage for MVP ranking). The #1 rule, however is to not stagger because this is an even bigger mistake than just plain dying.
the rules
don't stagger
try not to die
always be doing something
recognize solo laner as hardest job
familiarize yourself with every hero
understand counters
fulfill your role
draft synergetical wombo combos
pick meta heroes
never underestimate your opponnent
don't waste time typing
extra things to remember (not discussed in video)
don't chase kills
a safe rule for the boss is only take it when 2x enemies are dead for 30 sec or more
have a strong four man gank squad
always have someone soaking
fully read, understand and use your talents and abilities, you'd be surprised how many little things you have missed as a very experienced player if you go back and read talents and abilities.
adapt your build to the map, enemy team and your team
remember to rotate
work together with your teammates as much as possible
take favorable engagements in which you outnumber your opponent
play as aggressive as possible safely without dying
the best defense is a good offense
learn to counter push to draw attention if you're not winning the fight
