An unusual incident occurred in Karachi's Abbas Goth when police arrested a 60-year-old man on Wednesday for allegedly teaching his grandson how to steal motorcycles. How They OperatedThe police provided detailed insights into how the grandfather-grandson duo carried out their thefts. According to SHO West Muhammad Amin, a complaint was filed by a resident named Bilal regarding motorcycle theft in Abbas Town. Shortly after, CCTV footage from the area surfaced, leaving everyone shocked. The footage showed a 10-year-old boy skillfully stealing a motorcycle.Upon interrogation, the boy revealed a startling fact—his grandfather had trained him in motorcycle theft. The boy confessed, saying, "My grandfather and I have stolen numerous motorcycles together."The ArrestAfter keeping an eye on the boy’s movements for a few days, the police arrested the 60-year-old man, identified as Saifullah, on Tuesday night. Further investigations revealed that the duo was part of a six-member gang, which included a woman, four men, and the 10-year-old boy.Gang OperationsThe police stated that the gang was part of an inter-provincial motorcycle theft ring. The boy would steal motorcycles, while other gang members, including Hamad, Muzammil, and Rafiq, stored and dismantled the stolen bikes. One of the arrested members, a mechanic, would strip older motorcycles for parts, which were then sold by other gang members. The female suspect, Zainab, and another gang member, Muhammad Anas, transported the newly stolen motorcycles to Hub, Balochistan, where they were sold.Recovery and Ongoing InvestigationThe police recovered 14 motorcycles, seven dismantled chassis, nine engines, and various other parts from the gang. Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of their operations.
