Welcome to our Chamber update for the week of November 23rd. My name is Elise Hildebrandt, I am the CEO of the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce.
From the local level of Chamber; congratulations to each the candidates who was sworn in on November the 16th to sit on city council.
In some of our work towards advocacy over the next little while we are looking to speak to two different groups of people and they include our gym owners and our female entrepreneurs. If you fit in either category, or are in each of those categories, can you please connect with us. We can be reached via email Info@PrinceAlbertChamber.com , or call us at 306-764-6222.
Working together with SaskChamber and MNP, please take a look at our website about the details of Grab A Slice, we have been advised that only 1.7% of the Federal Funds available, have been taken at this point, please sign up for any of these sessions, they have to see if you qualify for anything.
From the National level of the chamber, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, we have been advised that there are still funds available in the Canadian Small Business Relief Fund. For those of you who have not looked at this or maybe you haven't followed all of the details. It #GoCanadaUnited, there's up to $5,000 available for any PPE that has been purchased to help adapt your business. Please take a look and take advantage of those funds.
This was just sent to us which is quite an eye opener and it reads as follows:
Pick three, Spend $50, and Save your local economy.
Three, what three independently owned businesses, would you miss if they disappeared, stop in and say hello, pick up something that brings you a smile, your purchases are what keeps these businesses in our region.
$50, if half the employed population spent $50 each month in locally owned independent businesses, it would generate more than $42.6 Billion in revenue. Imagine that positive impact is three quarters of the employee population.
68 for every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores, $68 returns to our community through taxes payroll, and other expenditures. If you spent that in a national change only $43 stays here. Spend it online, and nothing comes home. The number of people, it takes to start this trend is one or maybe two, you and me. So as you get ready for that Christmas shopping, please make sure we do everything we can to support our local economy.
If there's anything that we as a chamber can do to help you. Please let us know. We can be contacted via phone, you can ring our doorbell please have your mask in place, or you can give us a phone call.
Thanks, and have an amazing week.
