In July 2024, Sony released the Local Edition, a software kit for direct evaluation and validation in a local network environment.
In this video, we introduce the features of Local Edition and the evaluation and feedback from four users who have tried Local Edition as Early Adaptors.
[Features of Local Edition]
Local Edition requires only an ordinary PC (Windows 10/11) and does not require a complicated connection to the cloud. By connecting a supported edge device to the same network as the Local Edition PC, the following can be easily performed without any knowledge of AI or programming. The inference results are not sent to the Internet, but are stored directly on the PC (in JSON format).
Perform image recognition: Recognize images as they are captured in the device.
Create AI models: Classify images and detect where objects are in the image.
Device management: Inference execution and installation of AI models and in-device apps
Recommended for those who want to experiment with image-based AI with no need for specialized knowledge, low cost, and short lead time.
