Andre Dontrel Burt Jr or better known as SoFaygo was born on October 3rd, 2001
In grand rapids michigan but would later move to atlanta georgia at the age of 2.
Growing up Sofaygo would be inspired by chris brown & drake, SoFaygo would even mimic
chris browns notable dance moves like the pop lock.
He fell in love with dancing to the point where he wanted to be a professional
dancer saying in his complex interview that he would sign up online to audition
for dancing shows.
Not only is SoFaygo balling out in designer stores but in 9th grade he would play basketball.
Even releasing a song titled "Ball Like curry" when he was 14 years old.
SoFaygo would go by the name Trvllinese before releasing his EP We Are Aliens in 2018
mentioning in a lyrical lemonade interview that he received backlash for the name switch
but he told his audience to wait and see.
SoFayo would get the name after being high in his room and drinking
the popular soda drink "Faygo". He said F it and made his name "SoFaygo"
It wasn't until he was in 4th grade that he joined his schools "Chorus" Program
But SoFaygo wouldn’t record his first song until he visited his cousins basement
his cousin would then ask "if he wanted to make a song"
He was so proud of his first song that he showed everyone
that would fuel his passion to create more music.
Unfortunately the songs he recorded from 4th to 6th grade were kept in the vault for him to enjoy.
When he would go into 9th grade that’s when he decided to really get serious with
his music and develop his own sound.
He would go home from school and record a new song every chance he could on his mac desktop with
a microphone that he received in middle school.
the songs would rake up anywhere from 2-5 thousand plays.
His oldest project that is out titled "war" was released on June 30, 2019 and the inspiration
for the project was the sound of Soundcloud at the time.
Mentioning in an Our Generation Music interview that he adapted to the sound of his environment
with a mix of his own sound
Later down in his career he would collaborate with fellow artist Lil Tecca to make the project
"Angelic 7".
Lil Tecca sent SoFaygo a bunch of beats and SoFaygo would record the whole project
in his bedroom on Garageband.
His Single "Knock Knock" from his Angelic 7 project would be accompanied by a music video
from the one and only Cole Bennett. The beetlejuice inspired music video was released on May 3rd 2021
and would rack up millions of views.
On December 17th,2020 SoFaygo would release his album titled "After Me".
After receiving comments from the audience saying that most of his music
sounded the same so he felt that he had something to prove
He’s even received co-signs from Travis Scott, who shouted him out on Instagram Stories multiple times and even
played Faygo’s music at Stormi’s birthday party.
His dream collaboration would be with Lil Uzi Vert and Chris Brown. Saying that him and uzi would make a crazy
beautiful song
In February 2020, SoFaygo flew out West to link with Travis scott and ended up signing to Travis Scott's Record label
Cactus Jack Records despite other labels trying to sign him.
When SoFaygo hits the studio he doesn't really need anything to get into
the mood of recording. He goes in with the mindset of being diverse and trying to expand
his sound.
His favorite dish to eat is Shrimp alfredo but he loves seafood
in general. Saying in a cuffboys interview that you can catch
him in the cut of any seafood boil restaurants
His favorite anime is attack on titan, mentioning that the show has mystery,
action and a lot of crazy effects. His love for anime would also inspire his music
by taking melodies from his favorite anime’s and making them into beats.
When he was 16 years old he got a job at KFC, Mentioning in his XXL interview that he dreaded
going to work and would always come home smelling like chicken grease. He was tired of that so he
quit his job and went all in on music
