A customized novelty VHS Tape made by Champagne Video, based around the supposedly lost 1994 movie Shazaam, starring Sinbad as a Genie, which never actually existed, but many people, (mostly 90’s kids), swear they remember seeing as kids, but overtime was supposedly lost to time somewhere within a parallel dimension, as a result of the “Mandela Effect”.
(My personal belief is that these people who say they remember this so called “Sinbad Genie Movie”, are simply misremembering both Kazaam, which obviously was a real movie about a Genie, played by Shaq, and Disney’s First Kid, which did star Sinbad. Both of these movies were released in the summer of 96, just a few weeks apart from each other, and both were released by the Disney Company. My guess is, many people who were kids in the 90s, saw both of these movies as kids, and then simply mixed them up in their memory. Furthermore, Kazaam and First Kid were both released on VHS in Disney Clamshells in early September 1997, and the opening to the First Kid VHS, has a trailer for Kazaam on it, and vice versa for the Kazaam VHS. And also the Microcosmos VHS that was also released the same day, had both the First Kid and Kazaam trailers in the opening. I’m fairly certain these factors also may have contributed to this misremembering).
The cover art for this custom VHS tape is a painstakingly perfect recreation of the Kazaam VHS cover, just photoshopped to feature Sinbad instead of Shaq. The fake film description and film credits both feature many tongue in cheek nods to other well-known “Mandela Effects”.
This fake custom VHS tape is one of the many customized VHS tapes you can buy right now at
champagnevideostore.com (among which also include a VHS of “Angels With Filthy Souls”, the fake gangster movie featured in “Home Alone”, as well as other fun VHS Novelty items, mostly ones based around The Simpsons and Seinfeld). Definitely recommend you check out their site, especially if you’re a big VHS snob like myself.

(Please do note that all of Champagne Video’s customized VHS tapes are not actually real. They are replicas, and are meant for display only. However, the tapes are reused from other VHS tapes, so if you do pop one of them in your VCR, you will still get some sort of content. And it could be literally anything! Literally!).
