Pepper Chicken Gravy 🥘

This recipe has a special homemade masala powder which can be stored and used multiple times.

Ingredients:

For Masala powder:

Black pepper - 1 tsp
Coriander seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red Chillies - 5
Saunf - 1/4 tsp
Sesame Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Coconut powder - 1.5 tsp

For curry:

Shallots - 6
Onion - 1/2
Green chillies - 3
Curry leaves - a few
Tomato - 1
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 Tbsp
Turmeric powder - a pinch
Salt - as per taste
Masala powder (described above) - 1.5 Tbsp
Mint - a few leaves
Coriander - for garnish
Oil - 3 Tbsp

Steps:
1. Dry roast all the masala powder ingredients on low heat
2. Let the ingredients cool down
3. Blend into a smooth powder
4. Heat a pan and add oil
5. Once the oil is hot add onions, shallots, chillies and curry leaves
6. Add salt, turmeric powder and fry till golden
7. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes away
8. Add tomatoes and cook till they are mushy
9. Add 1 tsp of masala powder and fry
10. Add chicken pieces and fry them on medium heat for 5 mins
11. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 mins
12. Once the chicken is cooked, add 1 Tbsp masala powder and cook well
13. Once the gravy starts to thicken, add coriander and simmer for 10 mins
14. And Chicken Pepper Gravy is Ready!!

Serve hot with Rotis/Naans or Rice 🥘
