For July's unusual British festival, I decided to head all the way to the south coast to find a tradition centred around an historical event - the story of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. What seemed dry and serious on paper - a festival about six labourers that were sentenced to penal servitude in Australia for daring to form a loose union back in the 1830s - turned out to be one of the most relaxed and fun events I'd been to so far this year.
