Hello everyone!
Welcome to my new contemporary art tutorial. This time, we'll explore a fascinating technique to create textures similar to those I usually achieve with sand or sawdust, but with marble dust. This material allows us to achieve a much finer and more subtle effect.
The process I'll be teaching you requires a lot of patience, as it involves adding layer upon layer of paint. Each layer will have a part of transparency, and some of them will create new textures on the canvas. To highlight the depth of these textures, we'll cover the canvas with earth-toned ink (burnt umber). After letting the ink sit for a couple of minutes, we'll remove it, leaving it only in the grooves of the textures. This method creates a deep effect and gives the artwork a vintage, slightly corroded look.
I hope you enjoy the process and feel inspired to create your own masterpieces with this unique technique. Let's get started!
