This is the Desert Nightsnake! I think this episode would've made more sense for a season about snakes of Arizona where they're much more common. However I couldn't resist making an episode about finding one so close to my home where they're a rare sight! This snake has some amazing adaptations and it's also mildly venomous! I always think it's cool knowing there's venomous snakes out there that are completely safe to handle like this one! Apologies for the intermittent uploads. I've been recovering from knee surgery but I have a few more videos to come!
Keep in mind I am highly knowledgeable on this subject and I know how to work with these animals. Never try to physically interact with these animals unless you are a trained and/or experienced professional.
This video was made possible with Storyblocks stock footage and audio (not sponsored). Money well spent to help create quality content. Though I have my own theories surrounding herpetology, the bulk of my knowledge comes from many different sources such as the Brave Wilderness youtube channel, Snake Discovery, SciShow, Austin Stevens, The National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Reptiles & Amphibians by John L. Behler and Wayne King, the Peterson Field Guide to Western Reptiles & Amphibians by Robert C. Stebbins and Samuel M. McGinnis, Inaturalist.org, herpmapper.org, and other fellow herpetologists.
