Hi, I'm Rose and I live in Hirosaki, Aomori in Japan. One of my favorite places to go on the weekend is Kuroishi city. Kuroishi is about a 30-minute drive from where I live. There are many hot springs, old buildings, beautiful nature, and, surprisingly, vegan food! For the past couple of years, Kuroishi has been actively trying to increase vegan food options in the city. The newest addition to the growing list of places I can eat is Cafe Youbisha!

About the cafe:
Cafe Youbisha (養美舎) is located in the Nuruyu Onsen District of Kuroishi, Aomori. It opened in Fall of 2023 as the first fully vegan cafe in Kuroishi city. The contents of the menu changes slightly every week or so, but the basic type of food stays the same: brown rice, miso soup, and several side dishes. It's healthy and delicious vegan Japanese food! The inside of the shop is very nice and has a beautiful view of the river.
